The controversial south east light rail project that is targeting over 800 significant trees, will also cause major safety and traffic gridlock problems, it was revealed today.
“Cutting two lanes of Anzac Parade for the light rail will create permanent traffic jams because of “bottle necks” as Anzac Parade goes from 6 lanes into 4 lanes after Alison Road. There are solutions that would not only alleviate traffic problems but also save many trees.” Says Engineer Alex Kleytman.
A meeting was requested with the transport minister Andrew Constance, but the minister’s diary is full. Rally organised by Saving Sydney’s Trees to be held this Wednesday outside parliament at 1230pm. Click here for more info.
